To Jack: As an American, I am always amazed at how little the Wall Street wise know of the world - even Canada. Northern Telecom is regarded by the street as "foreign" even though it has a huge Texas operation and supplies a major portion of telecom equip in the US - let alone all around the world. And taking over Bay Networks has been seen in New York as the conversion of an all American company (Bay) into a Canadian company. But, as you point out, in fact Nortel is far far superior to either Cisco or Lucent as a world player or even a US player in the entire spectrum of telecom and networking. Just a fact IMO. Perhaps someday Wall Street will wake up. But don't count on it soon. Cheers. Chaz PS I make this observation from the vantagepoint of owning and following Cisco, Lucent and Northern Telecom.

Jack - You are not alone. Nortel has been overlooked. IMO, the mutual funds are just waking up to this stock.
