Santa Clara, CA
Duties/Responsibilities:
As a member of the Storage Area Network switch development team, this engineer will be responsible for:
Creation, influencing, contributing to the product architecture and design of SAN fabric products from core ASICs to overall system perspective. Working closely with a group of highly motivated H/W and S/W engineers on a design team for ongoing and next generation products in Fibre Channel and SCSI ASIC design. Design, integration, and debug of multiple-protocol bus interfaces. Interfacing to microcontroller and device drivers in real time operating systems. Participate from conception to implementation the development of ASICs to enable intelligence at the peripheral edge and from the server Can someone translate this for us?.

Joy Erler SIC MANAGER/FIBRE CHANNEL Manage 6-8 highly talented engineers
Description: Duties/Responsibilities: Manage a group of 6-8 highly talented hardware engineers involved in the development of high speed SCSI and Fibre Channel interconnects for use in Storage Area Networks. The technology will make use of Fibre Channel and SCSI protocols with implementation in ASIC with embedded RISC operation systems. The group will reside in a newly created division formed for the express purpose to take advantage of the fast developing storage area network market with this product development to supply connections solutions for storage to servers and switches. The duties of this design engineering manager would involve: Creation, influencing, contributing to the product architecture and design of Fibre Channel and SCSI products from core ASICs. Working closely with a group of highly motivated H/W and S/W engineers on a design team for ongoing and next generation products in Fibre Channel interconnection devices. These devices will need to excel in performance, reliability, and ease of use. Implementation of 1000BaseT and ATM H/W bridge functions for Fibre Channel through the close integration of HW and SW. Understand the design, integration, of the system aspects of PCI and PCI-X bus interfaces for PCs and interface embedded RISC processors. Lead technology developments in custom ASICs and understand physical layer aspects of Gigabit communication protocols. Manage the career development paths of the team through mentoring, performance reviews, ranking, and constructive feedback. Qualifications: 3+ years of hardware development experience either in direct management or in the role of engineering project leader in the area of ASICs, preferably for Fibre Channel and SCSI products for storage. An understanding of SCSI/Fibre Channel protocols, subsystems, and MACs would be highly desirable. Experience, involvement in the complete design cycle from conception, system planning, implementation, design verification, and manufacturing release with a highly developed discipline over the complete development process. Be able to operate in a startup type environment, willing to take risks, and make the quick decisions to execute. Skills/Experience: Hands-on experience with the direction of ASIC-based product development utilizing various technologies such as gate arrays, quick turn ASICs, and programmable logic devices. Experience with Viewlogic, Verilog, and Synopsis is required. Familiarity with analog CMOS development, design, and overall system architecture is highly desired. Interfacing to embedded systems is also highly desired. Fluent in the use of goal-oriented product development tools such as scheduling multiple tasks, tracking key milestones and communicating results. Education: BSEE required, MSEE highly desired.
ANCR,keep those engineers happy! PS Hope you have some Ethernet, and ATM interface stuff ready real soon, 'cause the big boys are coming. Maybe you could just give them a call and sell it to them? |
