I understand what you say. nature takes away what nature gives. But man takes away what nature gives. and it isn't even as necessary as bread, or meat........ Your point is valid under duration of stress. Some abortions may not be done under stress, they may be done for convenience, rather than survival. That is why I said "who am I to say ?". But there is a difference. Another difference lies in the fact that mankind has been blessed with a powerful mind. A mind which can make an informed decision. Animals of your example are not. Does that count for something ? I try not to be curious about personal positions, so the last sentence in your note is not an issue at all !
