I was close to finished twice - but clawed my way back

I lost 70% of my cash in September. I got it back to 80% of the original amount and then BAM, in 35 seconds I lost 50% again. I was getting tired of it but, now I am at a new high and have returned 400% in 7 months.

Also found that I can handle loosing a few thousand better now that it has happened a few times. The first big lose is a real shock.

" I was DESTROYED in the month of August." --> Funds vs. Trading

One distinction to make is this:

During the August downturn, fund investors (like myself) got burned badly.
I'd bet daytraders took much smaller losses, or made money shorting.
I surmize that shorting is something that FEW fund investors or funds themselves do.
Funds don't naviagte down markets nearly as well as a shortterm trader can.

Daytrade or not, I through with funds for good (except maybe index funds)
