With the advent of online trading and cheap commissions, and in light of how easy it has been to make money in this internet stock frenzy, I feel many people will be entertaining this idea. This will be an exploding indsustry, with people flocking in search of easy money (It HAS been easy the last few months!) This a drastic change in your life, so its probably easier to discuss this with others considering doing the same thing, or who have already done so. I'd like to discuss what things need to be considered, such as: * Ways to gradually make the transition? * What goals to set in order to determine whether to go back to work. * Other people's experiences who have already done this. * Impact of existing constraints (or lackthereof) (Mortgage, family, existing debt, current age, etc.) * Amount of capital needed * Dealing with other people's reactions (Are you NUTS?!?!) * etc... I don't want to discuss trading tactics or specicifc stocks, just the issues involved when considering leaving a perfectly good job in order to trade. | ||||||||||||
