I'm not sure that the internet will raise productivity; I do think that the internet will increasingly be incorporated into our lives and our work, and that is why stocks like AOL (especially AOL) have such a bright future. Chalu2, In my Company we don't actually get together and deliver the message most of time. As soon as we log in computer, we check messages. Nowadays, people in investment Co. don't gather financial Info. from value line. Instead, they get those from Open Bloomberg, Reuter, etc. How would online retailing raise productivity? This is the most obvious example. Customers get product Info in smarter ways. No sales representative. Better Computer intergrated distribution. Much lower inventory cost system. Internet facilitate what Wal-Mall revolutionized distribution system. Cyberian Outpost locates their product warehouse center near-by major airport so that COOL can deliver their products overnight as well as reducing distribution costs. There are so many facts that internet has been raise productivity which keep inflation all time low as well as increase of wealth of life. I would appreciate it if anybody can post other example how internet raise productivity.
