Hi Jeff,

" RDRAM maybe gets pushed further out, possible downward earnings revisions coming for 4th quarter,
Y2K forces companies to hold back purchases not only in the latter part of 1999 when the much higher-priced RDRAM machines are released"

Nah, don't buy any of that.........
Someone posted a (very true) message in the last 48hrs stating that DELL, HP and CPQ were in a horse race to be the first to bring RMBS to the market.
In most (if not all) major corporations these days marketing gets what marketing wants!! If marketing is worth their pay, the company is obliged to follow their demands.
Right now marketing departments are a little lean on new plugs. The new CPU with 500MHz wont sell many more, nor will 48 speed CD-Rom drive (yawn)
RMBS will make a very noticable improvement to the computers' performance, and the DELL's of this world will DEMAND it. MU Samsung and co may be reluctant to manufacture it, but they will be offered no other choice. It was exactly this reason that INTC took the $500kk (and a big stick) in the hand.
