Hi Alan:

After spending 15 years in the software publishing business, let me say that John Q. Public doesn't know beans about CD-ROM vs. DVD, DRAM vs. RDRAM, K-6/K-7 vs. P111, etc., etc. Do you know that over 60% of the schools still use computers with floppies. So when John Q. Public goes to Circuit City, he is shopping price, period. He doesnt's even know the marketing programs of Dell, Compaq, etc. Now the techies out there who can afford it will buy the latest regardless of price. Mommies won't. Tell them broadband is essential and they'll say can I get on the net. Put them on a cable modem and show them the increased speed vs. their 56K modem and they'll say why do I now need to spend $2000 on a RDRAM computer. So when the economies of scale permit RMBS to be offered in under $1000 machines so mommy and daddy don't have to think about the technology, now we got something. Is that day coming - I think it is but its still a ways off. So, for the time being, maybe, just maybe, the big MO slows down, the stock takes a healthy rest, consolidates, becomes less of a valuation risk and then starts to climb. It has had one helluva run the last year and people, funds, do like to take profits. Hey, there's lots of compelling stories out there besides RMBS. Again, just a cautious bull.
