I suppose you are also puzzled why solid profitable companies
such as Realty Money Center and PanAmerican Healthcorp, which was
previously a private company, would want to be only a piece of
PanAmerican Bancorp. Do you think John might be building a
successful conglomerate?

And if memory serves me, the article mentioned the pricing of each competing company, and All-Tech being the highest with $25/trade fees.

What I found most interesting in these articles was the fact that so many of these companies are going under because they are unable to keep up the pace for new and better software to provide their clients. This is a due or die business and it's imperative that you have the latest and best to offer if you are to keep your business afloat. I foresee one of two things happening; 1) these companies unite in software development with collective monies or 2) continued buy outs and acquisitions, much as has already happened in too many industries the past 20 years.
