Wow wily....that was way more than I expected. In my original question:

1. How do you partion the hard drive into more than one drive, and is this recommended? I'm getting a 10 Gig hard drive.

I guess what I had in mind was, when my brother got his new computer, he was asked at installation if he wanted his hard drive divided into more than one drive. (C: D: E: F: etc) I understood it was a option at install time. I was thinking that the first time I powered up, Win 98 would ask me if I wanted to do that. I must have misunderstood my brother. When I get my new system, it will probably be all 10 Gig set up as C:. IMO I thought it would be something simple like a menu choice. If not, I will probably keep it as one drive. Your explanation was appreciated but sounded awful complicated to me.
