How do you accurately determine what the recession was caused by? Is it Y2K or just a natural cycle or something else.

What caused the crash and depression in the 30's?

Predictions are just that, PREDICTIONS.

If a recession happens, it obvious businesses go under, but maybe the recession was a normal recession we experience every decade or two.

Is there an economist that can accurately predict anything consistently?
