Hi Marty - <<The request I made came directly from Rob Gordon... the guy in the "hot seat". There are too many suggestions never getting to the right place or getting lost in the shuffle. When he asked me, I volunteered my time to print the PMs and e-mails and fax them to him. He assured me they would be collated by topic and followed-up on post-haste. I can do no more.>>

<<This is not and should not be a "contest" between thread members. It should be the overall longterm success of the Company that we should be focused on.>>

Marty - thank you for your very generous offer. What is the vehicle of communication - is it SI and e-mail only ?

Regards,

Phil

Marty,

I have given considerable thought to the sales information arrangement you have proposed. I have to disagree.

There is a sales department and it id their job to generate ideas and contacts. They then are to approach top management with the refined ideas and list the contacts made with thoughts concerning their importance and possibilities of closure.

The function of top management, especially RG, is to direct the ship. His primary function should be to delegate to the departments the responsibilities these depts are designed and staffed to perform. He then can be free to direct and point the various departments in the directions the business plan dictates. He can also be free from being a deal salesman and concentrate on other top level enhancements to reinforce the direction TSIG in which TSIG is to proceed. He will also be free or available to aid in the various needs some deals may need.

I therefore feel the lead contact should be someone directly tied to sales. The refering individual will then have someone to directly confer with that is directly in the line of fire.

Bob
