I somehow don't think so... I don't think Dell will make serious penetration in Europe until they change their pricing policies here. Try to go to Dell's site and pretend you are in a European Country, for example Belgium.

First you will notice that only the oldest models are available. Then "configure" your system and notice the price, changing it to US$ using the current rate. Compare that with the same system off the US site and you will see a price at least 20% higher in Europe.

Now, you might call us a lot of things but I don't think the average PC buyer is dumb enough to pay an extra premium for the privilege of buying the PC in Europe as compared to US. I venture the guess that most Dell buyers in Europe are ex-pat Americans who might be ready to pay the extra money to be able to get a name brand PC they know from home.

Add to that the fact that Europeans are far less likely to want to pay a premium for brand name PC's - the trend here is much more for no-name or even home built PC's.

No, if Dell want to get a part of that 30% european growth they will have to adjust their price policy for Europe quite a bit.
