Good point on the price. But last I heard, CD-RW disks were not readable by the vast installed base of CDROM drives. Unless and until that changes ...

Could HWP or other companies be working on a $200 CD-RW drive?


It always amazes me how people keep getting the uses for these technologies mixed up.

Removable storage = Zip

Archival device = Cd-RW

Unless the FUD HWP is working on is fast and can do multiple partial writes with the same disc, and without writing over the original data then it is still an archive device, and they can co-exsist. One thing I don't like about CD's is they're size ! My car music CD's stay in my car, my home CD's stay at home... WHY, They don't fit in my pocket, for me thats a big deal, for others maybe not.
