Wild speculation in the stock market, using equity created through a real estate bubble of huge proportions. Our market would have to go to pe's of 70 on the dow to be as speculative.

However, 2 wrongs don't make a right. The tech sector is manic now as if all the rules have changed. There is a huge divergence with the dow since 10/8/98. There has to be a regression to the mean to allow for a healthier market. Certainly not today, though.
