Dear Jim: Careful there ole buddy, you're stepping on my toes I think? I have always paid in the MAXIMUM to SS from the first day I started work after graduating from College. NOTHING would piss me off more than to see MY BENEFITS cut for ANY reason. When I was paying in they called it INSURANCE and guaranteed the payback. Had I been allowed to invest that money, especially considering the matching portion, I would have well over $1 Million in the plan now. JDN

Jim - OTOTOTOTOTOT re: Social Security

The problem with Social Security, IMO, is that it is at its core an immoral system. It can't be fixed, repaired, saved, etc., etc. Only its eventual death can fix it, if it doesn't kill US first.
