FWIW,

Ask any farmer (row crop) what his or her plans are to purchase new equipment and most of them will say, “Not in the near future”. The price of all farm commodities are playing with the ocean's bottom!

Deere is the best of the lot by far, but...

Good Investing

John - DE (John Deere) - it's not just Equipment purchases from Brazil et al, but with grain prices beaten up so much, mid western farmers (who are John Deere loyalist) may try to get one more year out of their equipment before buying new combines etc. There is a new Farming thread here on SI - not many posts yet but it may be a good place to start.

I'll check some agriculture sights I have bookmarked and see what the general feel is out there. (I was planning to do some part time farming until recently and have a lot of bookmarks)

I own a Kubota tractor myself - JD's are just as good

JS... yes of course, we want everyone to contribute. DE was an earnings play 2 quarters ago and I also think it will come back.. we've had very nice stocks that were not glamorous also and they have proven themselves in a short time frame (CLX up from 86, CTAS up from 50)
