Bonnie: what is you thought about Clinton's tonight suggestion of putting Social Security funds into stock market? If he succeeds, the DOW will go to 50,000 in no time <g>

I'm not bright enough to know about the volatility of the 60's and 70's. All I know is that there is a ton of money in the market. Much of that money is in pension plans. Most of those plans have limitations about their investment options. So everyone buys the same crap. If everyone is buying the same crap, that crap is worth more. It's the same story everyday--supply and demand. The cost of a simple 3 bedroom house in my 'hood is 200k. The cost of a simple 3 bedroom house in my 'hood where I grew up is 65k. I just happen to live in a much more populous area now. Same with the world. The whole world getting more crowded, more money made, more investors. They all buying the same thing. Unless or until that changes, up we go.

Tough love for us who have been too rational. We missing the boat. We're like the academicians in the ivory towers looking at the workers and thinking "they will never be able to build the pyramids with them stones..."

>>IMHO we are not moving into an era of permanently higher prices.<<

If so then we have a nasty decline coming, yeah?
