DALLAS, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Voice Control Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: VCSI), a leading global supplier of speech recognition and related technologies, today announced that it has signed a multi-year agreement with Brite Voice Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BVSI), to supply Brite with large vocabulary speech recognition capabilities. The new agreement significantly expands on the long-term relationship between Brite and VCS. Brite's business solutions, which incorporate other VCS speech recognition technologies, are currently installed at customer sites worldwide, including AT&T, AT&T Wireless, Ameritech, Sprint, Telia, Hutchison Telecom, and others. Under the terms of the new agreement, Voice Control Systems will port SpeechWave EnterPrise!(TM) to the BriteConnect(TM) platform, Brite's open, scaleable platform designed to provide a wide range of multi-media, interactive voice response (IVR) and information processing services.
Unique to the automatic speech recognition industry, the award-winning SpeechWave EnterPrise! combines IBM's ViaVoice(TM) Telephony large vocabulary phonetic speech recognition with VCS' premier digit recognition. The Brite, VCS, IBM alliance will provide customers with an integrated family of speech recognition, voice processing, and interactive information tools.
