Thanks for the information about Datek...A 30% margin requirement is pretty good in this environment...That's only 5% more than the 25% SEC margin requirements for brokerages...If I were going on margin, Datek would be a really good bet...40% is what many brokerages are charging...Too much, in my opinion!! And 50% is downright unfriendly, and stinks in my opinion...Having said that, no one is twisting our arm to go into a 50% margin transaction...Thank heavens, it's still our choice...

In regard to online brokerages, I've been using Brown and Company and really have had a good experience. Trades are executed in a timely way, margin interest is the lowest around (less than 7%), commissions are negligible, and you can trade options.
