But we might do better if Clinton is convicted and removed. That would elevate Gore to techno-weenie-in-chief. His "reinventing government" efforts are behind the feds moving rapidly (or at least, more rapidly than the bloody BANKS) into things like direct deposit, electronic invoicing and payment. Recall that the Small Business Administration is ALREADY signed up with CKFR. It's the "New Democrat" strategy: hang onto as much big government as possible by making it less inefficient and wasteful. But don't hold your breath. The smart money here in Washigton is still betting you'll see Clinton acquitted on a straight party-line vote, give or take 3 or 4 senators in either party.
