I would say very UNDERvalued Runner. When we look back at today's announcement in July I don't think any of us will care about todays price movement. JMHO

Runner: Re: IBM news ...

I'm still a little puzzled about the wording of the Press Release.

"Under the terms of the agreement, HIE will market and sell MQSeries with the HIE Message Broker as IBM's recommended middleware messaging solution specifically targeted to the Utilities, Transportation and Government industries. The offering, known as HIE Message Broker, is available now in two separate configurations using either Cloverleaf or OM3 as the message broker. Also under this agreement, IBM will provide co-marketing funds to suppot the marketing and sales of the HIE Message Broker."

This says that HIE will market and sell "HIE Message Broker", but it doesn't say anything about the IBM side of the equation. I checked out IBM's website. No news there regarding HIE. I think that means that there will be no sales pull from the IBM side. That shouldn't come as a big surprise, though, considering IBM's existing arrangement(s) with NEON.

I also find the "focus" on 3 specific industries interesting, "Utilities, Transportation, and Government industries". That leaves out banking/finance, which is where I thought HIE had just made strides.

And, finally ... it's VERY interesting that the "HIE Message Broker" will be marketed with EITHER OM3 or CloverLeaf. Usually, when IBM blesses a "solution", they explicity define its contents.

There may be more here than meets the eye. Or, less, depending on your perspective.

Just a few thoughts to ponder ...

Regards,
