Sal, if you are going to keep this reasonable attitude up, I guess I will have to try the same thing. I never thought you were that unbiased about MSFT in the past, but I guess a year is a long time, and you seem pretty unbiased now. I repent. No way around it, since the peripheral makers are the experts on their hardware, and update the drivers the most frequently. Tue for Mac, true for Amiga, whatever. ---------------------------------------------------- In other news, Red Hat Linux has given my laptop new life, as the execution speed seems normal for a better machine now. 120 mhz Pentium was seeming a bit pokey, but Linux is so much faster than Windows 95 that it is truly amazing. I imagine the comparison to win98 and NT is even better. My pcmcia modem and my parallel zip drive are both supported. On the downside, even though Red Hat is alleged to be easier than other Linux to install, I don't think anyone short of an IS person or a programmer could possibly install it alone as I did. And even then I needed help from threads here and friends. Why is it that one programmer in 30 knows what 'easy to install' means? A ratio that has held since at least 1965, the limit on my experience. Must be genetic. We need InstallShield for Linux. Cheers, Chaz
