You may be right, but I'm expecting a rally in the afternoon no matter what Greenspan has to say.

I'd be very surprised if rates were lowered, I don't think the markets are expecting that either. I just hope he doesn't talk about raising rates, although I don't think he really can.....so, slightly lower on typical pre-Greenspan nervousness, then it's off to the races again...I think.....(gulp).....

Morning Patrick and all

I am looking to short this gap open -- though I must say that I feel less confident about this than I did yesterday. I may wait for a bit before doing so -- just in case it runs up right from the start. I'd be more inclined to short it at the open if it runs up further on the globex before the open.--up 10.60 as I right this. I am less inclined to think that the gap will be filled today though a move down to the low 60s is on the cards. I need to find a point where I can place a stop if I am wrong -- and at this point I cannot find a logical place to use a stop, that would provide limited downside. The 1271-74 level should offer some resistance -- so if it gaps up to the 70+ level then I'd be willing to short it with a mental stop at the 74+ level.

Anyway, that's my current thinking -- if Greenspan spooks the market, then anything could happen.
