(WCOM US) was downgraded to long-term ''buy'' from ''strong buy'' by analyst
Stephen J. Shook at Interstate/Johnson Lane. The 12-month target price is
$100.00 per share.

RESEARCH ALERT - AT&T, Sprint, MCI targets raised

NEW YORK, Jan 20 (Reuters) - Morgan Stanley on Wednesday said analyst Stephanie Comfort raised her price targets on the ''big-three'' long distance carriers, saying they will benefit from strong private line and business services demand fueled by growth in data and Internet.

-- raised AT&T Corp. (NYSE:T - news) to $105 from $71.
-- raised Sprint Corp. (NYSE:FON - news) to $93 from $84.
-- raised MCI Worldcom Inc. (Nasdaq:WCOM - news) to $95 from $65.

-- shares of AT&T rose 3-7/8 to 95-5/16 on Wednesday
mornings.
-- Shares of Sprint rose 11/16 to 81-7/8.
-- shares of MCI rose 1-7/8 to 79-1/8.
