Hi Keith,

It depends what you play. I have to check my application but they have a flat fee for 1000 share trades. For US stocks (which I sometimes daytrade) it's usually $40US flat for up to 1000 shares. For active traders you may want to negotiate a bit (but you didn't hear that from me ok?:)

There is also a flat fee (I think $30CDN) for up to 1000 shares of CDN stocks.

Yes the PCquote fees are expensive but with the discount I'm getting for my daytrading commission, and the large number of trades/mth I expect to do, the software will be pretty much free. For example, if I save $10US/trade and I do 2 trades/day X 20 days = $400USD savings.

If you trade more than 1000 shares then yes it can be expensive.

Essam.
PS: I'll find my application and get back to you with exact numbers. It's probably best though to just call Matt and talk with him.

LIVE SCRUTINY OF TRADES

There was some discussion a while ago on the possibility of applying pressure on the regulatory authorities to drop the requirement that a live broker has to review a trade before whistling it thru.
That might be difficult to change since the large brokerage houses would probably oppose such a change. It occurred to me that there is an alternative which might be easier to get adopted. Suppose anyone wanting to daytrade opened an account tagged 100% short term trading. Any trade in such an account could be recognized completely by computer and whistled thru with no human intervention. It would be hard to see how the authorities could oppose this since it leaves the system intact for ordinary accounts. Feedback anyone.

Albert

that keeps track of trades, gains ,losses, commissions etc.
Would Quicken Finance do the trick,or is there anything else
interesting ?
