Scott and Dave Now that the impeachment vote and all the rest of it is out of the way, this post expresses how I feel about this vote. Having been here during Nixon's tenure and the impeachment inquiry that was conducted, what I am now convinced of is that the magnitude of his crimes had nothing to do with why the nation reacted the way that it did. It was the economy that sealed his fate. If the economy had been chugging along the way that it has been the past year -- Nixon would have got away with it with the full support of the American people. Message 7777910
