[sbc, fon, etc]

hi daniel,

thanks for the post on the Josepthal analyst's comments... nothing seems particularly new in the details you noted, tho the handicapping orctf/fujitsu's chances with SBC as "very good" does seem a little more optimistic than previous accounting.. maybe suspiciously so... tho again others seem to think pair has the edge

in the bigger picture.. think sprint and maybe bt might have even more potential should either of those ships come in...(tho sbc would be just fine)

am thinking that fujitsu/orctf has a good shot at sprint... the thing which struck me in this last wave of news was what was left out this time around compared to what we got in june: namely, the cisco angle..

the sprint ion news in june had:

cisco providing the "technology at the heart and edge of ION, including customer premise equipment... ... and the way it was presented it sounded like you'd get your sprint (cisco) cpe stuff from RadioShack , one of two other key sprint "partners"..
(the third being bellcore)
telechoice.com

this time there was no mention of csco... seems kind of curious ... if fon is not going cisco's way, next in line could very well be orctf/fujitsu.. and should fon happen for orctf/fujitsu, would think that radioshack angle could still be alive.. ;)

by any chance have you heard of any technical problems with the cisco adsl solution?

and did you notice that the original (recent) sprint press release noted that their adsl rollout was starting in charlottesville this may?... calenderwise not too far away.. and you know who was last working in just those parts of the neighborhood for the sprint trial.. now completed..

til later
