Now that frogtel(ALA/WSTL) is a reality this is what it really means....Do you all remember MZ's old comments about the customer dictates PR and the customer tells vendors who they must co-habitate with on contracts...This interop chip deal with ALA is BEL saying ALA DMT product must be interoperable with WSTl DMT product...Take it to the bank WSTL will be part of BEL DMT also AOL/BEL DMT...Also this gives WSTL the ability to use ALA chips in LU/WSTL products..That SLC-2000 could look real nice at SBC and PACbell(compatiblity)...TXN and ADI are not gone but the clock is ticking and big TELCOs are ready...The Canadian deal is totally profitable(no forward pricing), it isn't huge but a few of these types can add up...The QTR, a total no event -25 to 26..The future is very bright and I hope MZ can communicate the following at the CC....ALA/WSTL deal happened because of BEL....BEL modem volume is very good and forward pricing may not be a issue for long...LU is jonesing for SLC-2000...DLC expertise and WSTL chip access puts them in a good position....BT's progress...AOL/BEL is not AWARE...Glite is more fiction than fact....Thing MZ can't talk about...Financing, close but WSTL will wait till BEL DMT is announced(good decision),my guess is the company from the land of the rising sun....what does BEL, BT have in common(ala/wstl) well GTE is next..FUJ/WSTL/ALA..It seems BEL,BT & GTE are all thinking the same....Remember this all takes time but the Pr has started to flow...On others, ORCTF will not do well in north amer...AWRE, SELL while you still can, JB cut all their deals and if you knew JB, you would know what I am saying(licensing for nothing does not make mon-ney)...Hope the bonehead anal-lysts can put things together instead of looking for spoon feedings...
