Okay Coby, let me wake up. You're mysteerious. I should try to be less of a smartypants around here, too; more clear.

They say cold arctic air is going to come and freeze the blooms off my early rhododendrons this weekend. Doggone it, that makes me mad. I usually just accept it. I'm getting grouchier these days.

But they're beautiful, and I want them left alone this time.

To me, the essence of embarrassment (which is a subset of shame, but more abrupt and transient - and Westerners tend to flip it into anger) is - to suddenly discover that I have made myself look bad without realizing it in time.
