This rumor has all the marking of a bs attempt to make a better exit from a sinking stock. Walk carefully here. If CDNW doesn't quickly break yesterday high of 22 25/32, don't wait around. NUTZ are starting to crack and a vague rumor is not enough to reverse CDNW's down trend.

The timing of a TW buyout of CDNW doesn't make a lot of sense right now. It is not up for graps (no other buyers on the horizon), the merger with NTKI is a big complication. TW is better off just to wait. CDNW's stock price isn't going to be a lot higher. A better rumor is that TW will buy LCOS. That's a real mouthful and would certainly make them forget about CDNW.

Indicating up 1 1/4 this morning.

Rumors like ones with TWX come and go. When they come up a second time, are verified that TWX is interested and a major columnist puts his sources and his reputation on the line by differentiating the interest level, you have to believe there is something there. Will something happen? Will it include NTKI? Will it be a buyout? That we don't know. I do feel comfortable with the fact that TWX is looking.

Honestly, I would prefer to see Compaq take CDNW/NTKI, rework the AltaVista website into a portal and then you have Yahoo, Go, Excite/@Home, Compaq/AltaVista, MSFT. That would be a great move for Compaq and for CDNW shareholders.
