For all you posters with fake names this is a must read.
Seems Intel want to imbed ID numbers in their chips so "whomever" can follow you around the web. ACLU is up in arms. What will Intel try next?

I understand you can have as many as 8 cards/monitors, assuming you had that many PCI slots.

I think you can have up to nine. This would allow you to build a screen wall if you so wished, each CRT being one of the tic-tac-toe squares. I believe this is just theoretical because, AFAIK, there's no BIOS available that supports that many slots.

Elmer,

*OT*

<< I have it on one of my computers running Win98. Obviously you need 2 monitors but you also need 2 PCI or 1 PCI & 1 AGP video card. It works quite well. >>

From what I gather now, it will cost me another $800 bucks to get a card that will allow me to get this new PC of mine rigged for 2 monitors. Basically, I think I would have to take out the nice video card I have in there to replace it with one that has 2 ports. I may do that but not right now. I REALLY wish it were easier. I really wish the WIN98 was capable of handling more IRQs (a new buzzword for me) than the paltry 15 it can handle now (with a PII, I assume it could handle MUCH more). Oh well, I suppose I can get two monitors up and running if I get off my _ss and spend a few hundred buckos. :-)
