There's partisanship all right as has always been for the last twenty years or so-by the Dems against anything from the Republicans.

Haven't the Repubs been complaining since 1995 or so that Clinton keeps stealing their policy ideas? So, which one is it? Either the Dems hate the Repubs' ideas or they don't, but you can't have it both ways.

God I only pray Reagan doesn't die during Clinton's term. I don't think I could stand seeing this SOB giving the eulogy for the one he so savaged. It would be the last straw.

...and then you'd stop whining and complaining? I think it would be a great speech. Clinton should be the one to eulogize Reagan, seeing as the "New Democrats" have adopted most of the "Great Communicator's" policies, albeit toning them down a bit to appeal to more voters. Clinton and Reagan have more in common than most Dems or Repubs would probably care to admit, and eloquent speech-making is only one example.

The mouthed "I love you" struck me as strange and ill-considered. Political speeches, like all other forms of fiction, rely on the willing suspension of disbelief. Any time you have something that is incongruous and obviously contrived, it tends to shatter that willing suspension of disbelief. I would think that even the most diehard Clinton partisans were at least vaguely embarrassed to see such a gratuitously staged moment. But I don't know; I stopped being surprised by the shallowness of their perceptions a long time ago.

I hear ya, friend.

Also, during the Reagan years, the Dems laughed and derided the notion that the economy would "...grow itself out of deficit, provided spending was kept in check...".

The Dems are STILL saying that Reagan's "trickle down economics" don't work, even as it's happening all around them!

<< ... what's even more sickening is the mindless public who suck up this sewage. >>

What is even more sickening is how the mindless public is going to treat the little Republican tyrants in 2000. The Republicans keep saying that Public opinion doesn't count. They also believe, as you do, that most of the people in this country are beneath great minds such as yours! <g>

You fill your notes with rants and raves and nasty slogans and insults. And, you expect readers to think that you are of such high caliber that you are above the lowly masses. Hmmmm!? Take a bow! I hear the sounds of one hand clapping, for you! <g>

The latest news is that the Republicans are ready to throw in the towel, on the Senate Impeachment fiasco and, once again, admit defeat. How are the Republicans, who have abused their majority power, going to gain back the support of the public that you and they treat with contempt?

Well, it goes both ways. The more you Republicans treat the public with contempt the more the people will treat the Republicans with contempt.

Well....... we'll just have to wait until 2000 and see how badly these elite Republicans will suck up to the very public that they now turn their backs on!
