News PALO ALTO, CA, Jan. 21 /CNW-PRN/ - Douglas Corbett, ALYA Vice President, Marketing and sales, announced today that recent sales successes along with sales expectations in Europe were the incentive to open an ALYA office in Belgium. Sales in western Europe will be directed by Walter F. Meensel, recently named ALYA's Director of Business Development, Europe. Van Meensel is based in Antwerp. ALYA's principal distributor in central Europe is the Corinex Group, led by Dr. Peter Sobotka, a member of ALYA's board of directors. Corinex headquarters are in Bratislava, in the Slovak Republic. ''With a sales and support office in Antwerp, and a major distributor in the Slovak Republic, as well as distributors in Norway, England, and Belgium we have created a base for growth in Europe,'' said Corbett. ALYA TO TAKE PART IN CONTINENT'S LARGEST BUILDING AUTOMATION SHOW January 25 to 27, an ALYA team led by CEO Roger Mutimer will participate in AHR Expo '99, the largest building automation exposition in North America. The international trade and technology show,organized by manufacturers of heating, refrigeration and air conditioning systems, will take place in Chicago at McCormick Place South convention center. More than 1,300 exhibitors are expected to display their products, with an anticipated attendance of 37,000. ''Daily reports will be provided on our website,'' said Mutimer.
