Thanks, that's more or less what I would have said.... Of course, it is hard to know how to respond when told to "shove it"... Anyway, the evaluation of the productive allocation of resources can only be based on a realistic assessment of security needs. If you need a lock on your door, it is no answer to say you could have bought a fishing rod. Finally, enlightened opinion did indeed think that Reagan would make the Cold War worse, and it was wrong.

Yes, Bill, Reagan was the best not-exactly-there President we ever had. It's one of these "Presidential integrity" things, who cares if SDI never had a chance of working?

He singly set the course for this country (Reagan)
Time will tell, but I predict Reagan will be mentioned in passing in the history books as the one between Carter and Bush. Clinton will have whole chapters (both good and bad).
