You got it Tim. No doubt TV/COM has lots of expertise in the analog area where Cube is weak. You need both analog and digital gurus to make an inexpensive settop. And cable modems. See this Cube job posting:

positions. Experience with PLL's, amplifiers, discrete/SAW filters, mixers, oscillators, NTSC/PAL
video, satellites and cable TV is helpul for analog/RF positions.


JOB DESCRIPTION:
We have openings for a manager and digital and/or analog/RF hardware design engineers. Develop
consumer products and prototype systems while gaining experience in:

QAM, QPSK, VSB, Modems
IEEE 1394, 1284, 10BaseT
RISC Processors
Graphics, video, audio
Cable, Satellite, ADSL, fiber, ATM, networks
RF/Analog filters, mixers, tuners etc.
Verilog-based FPGA design
