Well I was really reacting not to you but to the countless other posts I see here that contain things like "there are no barriers to entry", "anybody can build a website" blah blah blah. This is totally false - there are huge barriers to entry if you do automation right. Thats what Dell has done and what Amazon is trying to do. Im not saying Amzn will succeed, I just dont know. But, if you automate your distribution cycle better than everybody else, then by definition you can sell your products cheaper than everybody else, that is the objective - not a simple online catalog of books and a website. I would suggest that the longs and shorts look at the annual report for Amzn and evaluate spending outlays for software and automation. I havent had time to do that yet since I only own this one through a managed acct. (I follow the internets and like them but only own dclk outright currently). Anyway, and elaborate Sap system with customized distribution is maybe, 50 million to implement. They need to get that going, and then supply chain software too + all the associated hardware and consulting. If anyone here believes in this company as a viable long term player then the more they spend here - the better. BTW once in a blue moon an established retailer is able to automate (like UPS) but usually they fall flat on their hineys. This is why borders and B&N will never be able to eclipse amzn in the general on-line arena - they are run by a bunch of people that only know how to sell books. This board is so dang bearish I fell the need to put my 2 cents in - sheesh lighten up people! BTW not all internuts are crashing, Doubleclick is going up. If anybody knows dclk please go over there and say a few things, a little light on substance on the dclk board. Michelle
