Stephen, nothing at all devious about it. If you are in business you will understand the concept of a loss-leader. I suggest you take a close look at AMZN's 10-K, particularly the cash flow and liquidity sections to see what I'm talking about. There is no reason to believe that other booksellers will do better using web-based marketing. So the profits must come from elsewhere. If I were in control of Amazon I would be looking for a wholesaler with whom to team up. TTFN, CTC
