The "shared-pipe" issue is not just a choice b/w cable access offering 1.5Mbps shared throughput and a standard analog line offering 56Kbps throughput.

DSL is the best alternative with a dedicated copper line running your home's pair box to the DSLAM at the CO. If you happend not fall within 17,000 ft of the CO right now, you could settle for an ISDN line or a DirecPC-satellite download connection.

You should be concerned about security, especially if you do any transactions via your PC & Internet.

anyone know how many shares of T you get if you already have tci..have they spoke about the ratio yet..assuming the deal goes through..
