You bring up some good points, albeit boldly. I never mentioned whether the contributions were legal or not. That wasn't what I took issue with in your post. Just that Clinton is a bigger fundraiser than anyone in congress by far, and is owned by the rich and famous.

Why should any American take seriously his leading the very branch he refused to submit to when avoiding the draft? Why should Clinton be concerned about Saddam Hussein violating international law when he disregards his national ones? Listen, what we practice privately does matter, as Clinton's own life clearly demonstrates. He publicly displayed his fidelity in marriage, yet privately practiced adultery. He denounced the evil of the tobacco industry and the dangers of smoking, yet privately enjoyed a good cigar--maybe even a Cuban! He publicly on a Sunday displays his love for God and the Bible, yet privately lives for the devil. He publicly swears to protect and defend the Constitution, only to misinterpret and trample it to the ground. Clinton is a wolf in sheep's clothing and will not spare one citizen to keep himself from taking responsibility for his own mischievousness. I've been saying this all along when I 'vomit' over the opinion polls. And don't forget Russia. If opinion polls had been around in the 1920's and early 30's (while millions of rural Russians were starving to death due to a protracted famine by Stalin), the Russian sheeple would have almost unanimously polled in favor of Stalin! AND... even after they learned how many millions of their countrymen were purged by Stalin, they STILL supported him. To this day, many would still support him if he came back from the grave. I think we are dealing with basically two factors here. First, there are the very literate liberal academicians who WANT what Clinton stands for and who would somehow justify his actions even if it were learned that he deliberately set up the OK City bombing in order to get his terrorism bills passed. And SECONDLY, there are the severely mislead and misinformed who plot their course based on what they overhear (a few minutes a day) by Dan Rather, and the other national media heads. They are not illiterate (though some actually are) in the strict sense of the word, but they are ignorant, ignorant, ignorant. Most of them don't vote at all, or only occasionally, and they easily accept the status quo just as long as it doesn't upset their soccer games or sitting in their easy chairs (with a beer sitting the fold out cup holder compartment) and mindlessly viewing what is really the 'opiate for the masses' - SPORTS! If some of these jokers knew only a fraction as much about what is going on in their country as they do sports statistics, things might be different. So would someone please tell me why the American people would be more difficult ot mislead than the Germans or the Russians were in the first half of this century? HUH?
