Remember that they are trying to merge w/TCI and one of the proposals in front of the FCC is to force the merged unit to rent their cable lines to those who want to use them. Such a requirement, says AT&T, would jeopardize the merger. Are they blowing smoke? You decide. I don't know what AT&T's position is on the topic of forcing the RBOC's to offer DSL to competitors.
