I don't know if you are old enough to remember but Reagan's whole campaign was based on the concept of his balancing the budget. They are all such liars. No sooner do they get elected than they forget what their promises were. I don't recall him saying that he would balance the budget only if he got Democratic help. If he was so impotent without their help why not say so? Ok, Ok, just kidding. Honesty too much to expect from any of them.
