Look for ATHM to purchase ATT network and to purchase other ISPs as the year rolls on. I expect ATHM to have by year end about 4M accounts which would mean an additional 1.5M from new ISPs. This is a very cheap way to get customers on-line with ATHM while the cable modem buildout converts them to broadband. They must do this especially in light of DSL rollouts. They have an excellent opportunity now to build a franchise as marginal ISPs face the decision to upgrade networks to DSL - better for them to take some ATHM stock and call it a day. It is now a 2 horse race. Within 5 years, ATHM can have the number of customers AOL will have if they execute now on this strategy. I also look for MSN to become a portal only as this ISP is going nowhere. Based on this and figuring AOL will at least double in market cap, ATHM stock could be worth close to $1,000. This at least is a potential for ATHM.
