Rumor: 2:1 split to be announced on 6 Feb
I was discussing the MSFT stock with a student of mine, whose mother works for MSFT. She had been upbeat during her last conversation because of the internal MSFT email about a 2:1 split to be announced on 6 Feb. Does anyone else have better info on this possible split?

Bill, There does not seem to be any direction to the market (well
maybe down). Normally, you can tell if we are in a rally mode or
a selling mode. Considering the sell off last week, it is hard to
get a feel for the direction. Was it just Brazil last week? Was
it investors sensing that stocks had come too far? What will it
be this week? Clinton?

I am probably going to "play" the market starting Monday, shorting
into a rally ( or buying puts) and buying calls on a drop. Maybe
i won't. Just don't know what to do short term.

It is hard being a long term investor-----I just feel the need
to do something (like a market addict).

Maybe I should just take a vacation and not bother.
