It is hard being a long term investor--
Yeah, Tech2, you can take the gambler out of the market, but you can't take the market out of the gambler! maybe you had better find a twelve step program for staying out of trading. Take up golf. quit going on line and checking the market. move to Tahiti!
Naah, none of it will work. Send your wife to the market, and start playing options while she is out, I guess.

Tech2,
I know what you mean. I'm tempted to liquidate just for a break. It really is difficult being long term because you have to restrain yourself from doing anything. I'm not sure it makes sense to be long term, though, except in a few areas. Let me ask you this: When you buy a stock for the long haul, expecting to double in a few years, and it doubles in a week, doesn't it make sense to sell? It's hit your target after all...

Short term I think the market could get a big boost by the Senate throwing out the impeachment trial. Even though the issue doesn't seem to have hurt the market, still it would remove uncertainty and this is a good thing. Microsoft figures to have bottomed barring a torpedo from the Judge (which would probably be a big buying opportunity.) That's MHO.
