Buy trading on it would that mean buying or selling. I assume it does. How would you not trade on info. like that.

For instance lets say you own 1000 shares in ABC company. There coming out with an earnings report. Before the report comes out somebody on the inside gives you info that the earning are going to be way down. You didn't solicit it - they offered it. If you then sell those 1000 shares are you in violation of SEC rules.
