Looking at John 3:16 more deeply.... "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The emphasis I would place here is on God's Son, only His Son. Not good works plus His Son. Not baptism plus His Son. Not Mary plus His Son. Not allegiance to any church or institution plus His Son. Salvation is by Jesus the Son of God and nothing else. No additional person, no seven sacraments, nothing but nothing else. Only in Jesus Christ is there salvation !
