There's just too much HYPE surrounding internet retailing
i'm surprised at all these analysts hyping the prospects of these companies (including AMZN) to such an extent, I'm sure deep down they all realize that these aren't TECH stocks, they are just plain retailers, in a sense that they dont have any technology as such, no niche, no proprietory content, not even profit margins, they are not the microsoft or the ciscos of the future, and as far as being the Walmarts and Costcos..

it takes $$, manpower, time, resources and RISK to start something gigantic like a Costco, whereas with the Internet business model adopted by Onsale, theres NO risk, no startup time, no inventory no storage no depreciation,, Where is the barrier to entry that made Walmart and Costco what they are today?

whats so great about onsale that will have companies lining up at their doorstep ?

35-40 such companies and the count keeps growing everyday, and everyone dreams of selling everything under the sun, there isn't going to be any single winner here. Not even AMZN, the company cant make money on sales of 1Bil dollars, what makes them think it will ever ?
