the 12 percent is a return on what? the s and p? what happens when a stock is removed from the s and p? its replaced by another that will carry that growth. that is a relatively small population compared to all stocks available. what about x, y , and the nikkei dave? you dodge the question cuz i blew a hole thru your theory? expected value? cmon, are not todays prices trading on next years expectation? the poker game clearly illustrates the drain on money.i am not arguing the historical growth, i said i am well aware of the figures.you also dodged the bell curve in relation to your population, winners and losers, dave. pull out yer stats book and see what that thing looks like for a population. if the average is 12pct there is 50pct to the left side of that curve that did not make it.
