Geez! LOL!
It's like a piece of real estate. Someone owns it.
The market value is 1,000 bucks. They buy it for
$1,000. Hold it for a period of time and sell it
(through a real estate agent <of course>) for the sum
of $1,2000, which was the market value at that time.
That real estate is gaining valuation. In some way
or another. It's a time factor for a good piece
of real estate. Think about a good company, similar
situation. IMO

Therefore, it is a positive sum "game". It MUST be!
If it wasn't, there wouldn't be anyone investing in it.
Because that would really be gambling then.

Then think about companies that pay dividends. Different
kinds of dividends. It all makes for a interesting market
doesn't it? Simple huh? LOL!
